I can't seem to find an article on the subject, but to paraphrase:
The mangaka's wife, Kashiwagi Shiho, does nothing but fool around on nicovideo all day. She ends up having an affair with a nicovideo user, the mangaka finds out, and divorce proceedings ensue.
Shiho takes half of the mangaka's estate, but he gets custody of their child. She sues several times to take custody but fails.
Finally, because Haruna was based on Shiho, Shiho sues over character rights for a share of TLR's profits and wins. Mangaka starts by more or less writing her off in favor of Yui, then cancels the manga altogether.
If memory serves, his comment on the entire ordeal was something like "while I was drawing a manga about taking off girl's panties, another man was taking off my wife's."
So yeah.
