Anonymous boards don't have post counts. So we use powerlevels instead. Sauce is one of the ways newfags can be identified. Newfags should lurk and are expected to display a modicum of thought and effort to be accepted.

Not knowing how to track down source and asking all the time just shows that you don't know what you're doing. After a while that gets annoying to the people who do know, especially the ones who are nice enough to keep answering the same dopey questions every day, so sometimes people snap and tell people to piss off.

And sometimes people will post stuff and be completely obscure about it, so that everyone has to waste time playing detective instead of actually talking about stuff or reading manga, which is annoying too.

Your argument does not hold. Hiroyuki's reason for anonymity is to force people to criticise based on what people say, not who they are. I am critical of people who constantly ask for source, as this characterises newfags, and newfags characterise the crapping up of forums. Asking for the source of obscure doujins is understandable. When requests are found in every single thread with no apparent effort from the user to independently find source, that demonstrates an immaturity, lack of knowledge or laziness, which I give advice against to help people out. If they don't follow advice then I believe it is reasonable to tell them to get out.

A good man would provide source whilst also instructing the user on ways to independently find source in the future. This sort of treatment becomes exhausting if it occurs over and over again.

These boards are here to discuss manga in safety. Safety requires cooperation between all users. If the any and all people were tolerated here, this board would resemble the poorly moderated wasteland of 4chan, making it redundant. This board fulfills a niche, its a place where more seasoned users can discuss without having to filter through trash.
