Besides, I doubt Mokona can draw the detailed pictures that she did for X or CLOVER.

CLAMP said the reason why X stopped was the story would become too gross and Kadokawa didn't let them draw. But I doubt this, too. Because if that the case, they can always move X to 17+ magazines. (Bastard and several other mangas are like that)
For CLOVER, the original magazine became out of print but again, they can continue drawing the manga in other magazines. (Like Honey and Clover did) But CLAMP didn't.

It's also questionable that they could think of a third ending for the darn thing, given that they've already done the "FUUUUUUMA!" thing in the movie and the "Ultra omega happy go lucky wai" thing in the TV series. Strongly suspect that the sole reason for Kamui showing up in Tsubasa Fanservice Chronicle was to torture fans. (On the other hand, the whole "world dies by acid rain" might be a third ending, if the Dragons fought to a stalemate.)

I also suspect that they cannot finish X as they are physically incapable of fitting the requisite amount of blood on the page.
