Dan Kim doesn't get any money from his comics, though.

And his fanbase is actually really small, compared to say Achewood, Penny Arcade, or any other webcomic. (check the Alexa stats)

His only source of income is his job, and the comics are just a labor of love...hence the lack of updates.
