Here's the second sample pack, brought to you by KungFuFurby!

There's a reason why I don't use images. I would rather have the sample packs on here rather than an external website.

Next votepack comes out Friday!

Image in a new thread, reply to the thread with the samplepack.
Good samples again! Pic tangentially related.

More weird sounds, should be fun. I'm kind of short on time this week but I'll try to whip something together.

well that was just dandy. 4 days down the drain. thanks heaps for letting me know.

New samplepack every two weeks.

3951 Name: Britany Bradshaw : 2007-08-20 07:52 [Del]

I thought the whole point of starting on Friday was to give people more than a week to compose, anyhow??

>>3951
How I understood the time shift was to give Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday to composition, rather than getting the sample pack some time during the weekend. That way people can spend more of their weekend composing if they want.

Bug report: Schism Tracker knows when you've been working on something good for a long time without saving, and will only crash when you are sufficiently far along with your composition that you can't remember all the details to recreate it. Please remove this sentience.

Steps to reproduce: Go for a few days without any success at composing, then suddenly get inspired. Forget to save for long periods of time.

Sorry, just venting... but it's likely I won't have a tune for this one.

Ctrl-S ;)

You dont need all hundreds of keybindings. Ctrl-s only matters. Make a habit out of pressing this after each tiny adjustment. I do that and dont even think about it.

I made a sample out of the churchbell from the samplepack. I was fooling around and never wrote down looppoints and alt-B'ed & alt-L'ed some. So I now have this sample which usage is somewhat important. Im afraid im not allowed to use this, am I?

Or is there someone who recognizes where this piece belongs?

3966 Name: xaimus : 2007-08-24 05:03 [Del]

Bleh. I had a fairly decent entry going, but the power to my place randomly died in the middle of a disk write.

3967 Name: Louis Galloway : 2007-08-24 09:30 [Del]

Jeez! That makes at least three people who intended to enter but didn't for some reason or another, including myself. I was completely uninspired this week :(

3968 Name: tct1501 : 2007-08-24 09:58 [Del]

It almost seems kirby included some bad luck in the sample pack;^) I hope there are still sufficient entries.

3969 Name: Eileen Joan Case : 2007-08-24 12:19 [Del]

Uhh, my suggestion for the Church Bell sample is that you reload it. I don't mind very small loop points, but very small samples were not included in the pack.

Speaking of which, I only have one entry so far! I'll wait another week and see what happens. If I don't get two more, I'll just post the entries. and let the users review the songs while the next compo gets underway.

FFS, this isn't AOL. It's not a "screen name".

Well technically, you've got none. My module has that 5byte long sample made out of the churchbell. Thats not allowed you say.

I cant leave it out and i did try to find such a loop again. But chances are slight I will pick those 5 bytes.
Otherwise grant me this one since im the only one who submitted on time (or didnt have bad luck :). Im not gonna make another one.

3977 Name: +- : 2007-08-25 15:04 [Del]

Extended for another week? I guess I'll have to submit something. It's probably going to suck though.

3978 Name: KungFuFurby : 2007-08-25 19:03 [Del]

Well, since you're the only one that actually submitted a tune during the first week, I'll let it go...

is this still on? here's a tune in any case. not my finest hour but it's ok-ish.

Yes, this compo is still on. Besides, today's Friday... wait! Today is Friday! Shoot!

Well, only two entries are in. So I proudly present the only other entry I got...

3990 Name: +- : 2007-08-31 21:40 [Del]

Yeah, I think that beats mine. Nice cat solo, tct1501 :D

Thanks :) Tracking it together was quite a painful experience to the ears though.
You decided to porkify the cat? ;) Very arabic song you got there btw. Nice.

4036 Name: KungFuFurby : 2007-09-15 15:15 [Del]

Hey, let's revive this one! I want to see some more entries then the only one I got previously!

Anyone with incomplete entries should continune on them. Next vote pack (if I have enough entries) comes out on Saturday.

You had two entries.

Also, I doubt you'll get more. There just aren't a lot of compo-ing folk around here.

Then again if anyone who was going to make a new song is reading this, don't stop on my account.

4057 Name: KungFuFurby : 2007-09-22 18:59 [Del]

I'll wait for either another compo, or more entries on this one. Today's Saturday...

4058 Name: Tara N. Bernard : 2007-09-23 20:04 [Del]

I do short compos. Like 30 minutes. An hour tops. Any longer and its like I'm doing it on purpose.
