Anyone interested provides a number of samples (say, 5) according to certain criteria, to be specified later. Samplepack is formed from all those samples, thus allowing everyone to participate. Other people are welcome to make songs even if they didn't contribute to the samplepack.

Of course, someone does need to be in charge of assembling the samplepack and doing other host-type duties. I'll happily do it if you trust me. If you don't, fine, just nominate someone else to do it instead.

A system like this takes at least 4 people to work properly, which coincidentally is the number of entries required for voting to work at all, and is also the number of people who regularily participate in compos on this board.

If there is interest, I propose the sample categories be released on Friday, and then the samplepack put up on Saturday.

I will provide a mini-sample pack for you some time. Just let me know what I should provide!

There is always time to be free for some tracking, but I dont want to end up putting to much time in it.

Alright, well not this week. But the idea stands open if people are up to it in the future.

This idea might be insane, approach with caution... but what if we just posted samplepacks, and not have the compos? If people make a song with the pack they can post it and then we can all go "oh that's a very nice song" or whatever but why make a competition out of it?

Its not insane at all. Worth a try. Because of the insignificant number of people turning up at compos here, the competition is rendered useless anyway.
