Problems exporting to Wav (5)

Yo, new Schism user, love the program. One big problem:

I can't export to wav. Initially I encounter an apparent bug described here on the board, where it just skips to the usual F10 Save Module screen instead of exporting.

If I try to export, but select 'Auto' and then name the file name.wav, it appears to work...BUT when I try to open the wav file, I get "GStreamer encountered a general stream error" and nothing happens.

Also: I can't find a version number anywhere, so I'm not sure if my version is up to date. I installed it from Ubuntu's Add Programs dialog.

Anyone have any ideas? Any help is appreciated.

either the top line or Ctrl-F11 will tell you what your version is, but if you didn't download it from one of the links on the wiki page it's probably well out of date. What I'd suggest: uninstall what you have now, get the latest autopackage from http://schismtracker.org/, pop open a terminal and run bash schism-0.5.x86.package. That'll get you more up-to-date.
