Future of midi support in Schism (6)

I'd like to know if midi in schism is going to be checked up sooner or later ? Should i report bugs related to this ?

I'd like to drive csound thru midi and nothing still comes close to Schism tracker. I'd like to know if the developers care about midi in schism ?

I know the midi file export is experimental. Any chance of it being polished up ?

I'm trying to use something else for midi but i find the interface of schism so inspiring. I spent 6 hours trying to craft a tune in another (commercial) software and got better results using schism after like 20 minutes...

Thanks!

Storlek posted on his blog about getting a midi keyboard, so I would assume that midi support is coming.

well, schism already outputs midi data. The timing is rock solid, really really tight.

I would like the midi file export to work better. I can't get it to work right now.

I don't even use gear with schism midi support. I just use it to drive other software thru midi.

Any link to Storlek's blog ?

I dunno about .mid files, considering I have no use at all for them... delt has pestered me a couple times about fixing the midi-writer, but as I said in >>4592: midi clueless. Everything I know about .mid indicates that it is a really ugly file format, and I don't think the cost/benefit ratio of learning all the weird nuances and fixing the exporter is worth it for me – especially as I would never personally use it.

I've heard that 2midi is decent, but again, I have no idea as I've not used it. Might be worth a shot though.

Well, i have used Reaper to record the midi output of schism tracker yesterday and i then exported the result to a midi file. Which was played successfully by csound.

So i'm not out of options. I could do it 100 other ways too.

But the thought of being able to do it all inside my favorite software has its appeal.
