Immediately upon entering the Font Editor, I get this:

schismtracker: schism/draw-char.c:603: draw_char: Assertion `x >= 0 && y >= 0 && x < 80 && y < 50' failed.

I only rebuilt today because I was hoping (without looking at any changelogs) that the font-editor might be a little less crashy. I'll try to gather more info, but, as of now, it just happens every time immediately.

Just FYI, here's what was added since then. You'll probably be able to live without it until the dust from my current rampage settles, maybe unless you're virt. :)

  • alt-y on sample list = text-to-sample
  • better keyjazz behavior (tries to remember notes for noteoff)
  • shift-chords fixed
  • 8svx loader
  • 'schismtracker dirname' changes ALL directories
  • IT loader no longer mutes all channels; you get what's saved in the file
  • some little quirks with global volume fixed
  • mouse cursor pref loading is fixed to account for system/IT/off instead of just on/off
  • midi preferences saving fix (was missing ZFF)
  • ADPCM samples removed from module loaders (you're not missing anything)
  • semicolon comments in config only parse at start of line
  • glob pattern for the module page is loaded from the config file now
  • +/- key behavior fixed so that it doesn't sometimes jump to the start of the song on key repeat
  • fake .wav module loading removed
  • fixed a minor bug on the instrument list
  • modplug DSP effects removed completely (as per >>>/sc/4443; channel effects will probably be added "eventually")
  • date/time in title banner changed, they now show when the program was compiled

By the way, the integrated font editors is one of my favorite schism enhancements. Shelling to dos and coming back and having to reinitialize my soundcard to change a module was far less convenient. I'm just psycho about my fonts, pretty much every mod I track is done with its own color scheme / font...

Is there something you can point me to about the details regarding text-to-sample? Thanks.

Well, no, not really. Basically it's just like writing into notepad, saving, and loading a raw sample. Maybe I'll write a page about it some time.

Meanwhile, http://schismtracker.org/hg/archive/20090603.tar.bz2 works, although it'll be missing the configure script. (just run autoreconf -i)

There's no ChangeLog, but hey, it builds. Maybe some day when I'm really bored, I'll go back and add one to the package.
