Do you use a Mac?

Serious question, most people outside the Windows world don't use the word "wallpaper" because it doesn't make sense to put wallpaper on your desktop. (Although putting a BACKground on the deskTOP doesn't make a whole lot more sense...)

It is because I use a mac, but I've never thought of it like that haha.

To answer your question, in the old days it was very common to use a pattern as a background, like this. So it looks like a wallpaper.

I remember screwing around with 95's when those queer pixel designs were what you had to mess with. good times, good times.

I remember seeing Windows 95's pixel designs and thinking that the Mac had been doing that with 256 colors for years.
